Credit Union One Online Security

 

With the introduction of CU One On-Line as a new way to access your accounts, privacy and security become important issues for members who manage their money on-line. For members wondering if the convenience of on-line access might come at the cost of account safety, Credit Union One is proud to assure the safety and stability of the on-line system.

 

The account information that members access on-line is kept on a server housed on-site at Credit Union One. In addition to each member providing personalized passwords and other security checks, the server itself is protected by the most sophisticated firewall available. A firewall is a computer that protects the server by allowing restricted access only to those specified. The firewall is a protection measure for the information contained on the main host, and prevents hackers from disrupting its operation.

 

Transactions on CU One On-Line are also protected by a protocol known as the Secure Sockets Layer. The Secure Sockets Layer provides a method of encrypting all data transmitted between a member's computer and the credit union, and allows verification that the data was not changed in any way en-route.

 

With these and other security measures in place, members can use CU One On-Line with complete assurance of safety. “As an increasing number of CU One’s products and services are available to our membership on-line,“ explains President/CEO William C. Lavin, “our number one priority will remain the security of our member's information and accounts.”

 

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE NEW ONLINE BANKING EXPERIENCE

 

We are very excited about converting to the new CUOne Online system. This change will not only put us at the forefront of online banking technologies, but will allow you, our member, to have a much better and more robust online banking experience! As we convert to the new system, we want to make sure you are well informed about the changes that affect the way you access your online account. Below, you will find a list of questions and answers that we think will help you with the transition and new login process. If you have a question that isn't addressed below, please feel free to call any of our branches or send an email to cuone@creditunionone.org and we can assist you in whatever ways necessary.

 

FAQ:

 

Q: When can I expect the new Online Banking to be live?

A: We are updating the system on August 5th, 2013, which means connectivity to CUOne Online will be down the from midnight on Sunday, August 4th thru the morning of Tuesday, August 6th.

 

Q: How will I access the new Online Banking?

A: You will still access Online Banking the same way! Go to www.creditunionone.org and click on the “My Account” button. You will be directed to a new login page that will include additional information that may be important to the upgraded Online Banking.

 

Q: What will I need to know/do in order to access my account?

A: Accessing your account after the upgrade will be quick and easy, but there are a few things you’ll need to know.

                • Your Online Banking ID: The letters “OK” plus your current CUOne account number.

                • Your Online Banking Password: Your current online banking password.

                • You will be asked to change your login information after you have logged in for the first time.

 

Q: What are some of the new features of the Online Banking?

A: There are several new changes with the new Online Banking. Some of the most important are added security features that keep your information as safe as possible.

                • Multi-factor Authentication: This new security feature adds personal identification questions that you set up in the event you forget your password, or lock yourself out of online banking. You now have the capability to reset your own password, rather than having to call the credit union each time.

                • To ensure your information is as secure as possible, we have removed the one-time passcode and implemented a more secure set of criteria that your passcode must meet. These include minimum and maximum number of characters, alpha-numeric requirements, and password expiration dates. This

                   criteria will be posted on the Online Banking login page after it is live.

 

Q: Will all of my information transfer over? Account History? Balances?

A: Yes! All of the information you are used to seeing in the current online banking will be available after the upgrade. In addition to your current information, you’ll be able to set up alerts to notify you if a particular event happens on your account, like a minimum balance alert.

 

Q: What can I do if I’m having trouble accessing my account after the upgrade?

A: We hope that this transition is seemless for you, however, if you do have problems accessing your account after the upgrade, you can contact us using the following:

                • Website: Visit www.creditunionione.org and click on the Contact Us link to submit an online request

                • Email: Send an email with your name, account number, and question to cuone@creditunionone.org

                • Phone: Call us at 405-557-0167 and we’ll assist you with any issues you are having!
